FON raises more than $13 million in financing
FON, the international home-based Wi-Fi community has claimed in a statement that they have managed to raise more than $13 million in financing.
These finances have been raised from undisclosed investors and it adds to the $24 million raised last year from other investors including search engine giant Google and VoIP company Skype.
FON added in its statement that they are currently the largest Wi-Fi community in the world with more than 320,000 members and 120,000 Wi-Fi access points.
They have added more than 60,000 access points in the past 60 days alone. The community’s members share their home Wi-Fi access points with others in the FON community. As a result, Foneros can use FON access points worldwide wherever they find another Fonero with a Wi-Fi access point.
