Coca-Cola reorganizing their North American business

Soft drinks major Coca-Cola Co. has announced that they are now going to reorganize their North American business. They would now create three new business units for its sodas and other beverages as part of the change.

Coke North America President Sandy Douglas said in a note to the company workers that this new operating model has been designed “to transform our business and win in the marketplace.”

These three separate business units would be for sparkling beverages, still beverages and emerging brands. The company faces massive competition in the North American market from rivals including PepsiCo and others.

Coke Chief Executive E. Neville Isdell had admitted recently that the company faced “strong headwinds” in North America. The company has now said that each of these new business divisions would be led by a president and general manager. They would be responsible for developing its own category and brand strategies.
