Emirates Airline planning to expand services to Bangalore
Emirates Airline has just recently started their services in the Indian city of Thiruvananthapuram. The airline company has now said that they are planning to expand their services to the IT city of Bangalore.
Their operations from Bangalore are expected to start from this coming October. This would become their fifth target city in the Southern India as the company aims to expand their presence in all the major airline destinations in the country.
Emirates Airline already has a presence in Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin, and Thiruvananthapuram. The airline company plans to launch eight flights a week to Bangalore. This would mean that they would have on offer around 2108 seats and 120 plus tonnes of cargo in each direction.
They would be using the modern Airbus A330-200 and the larger capacity Boeing 777-200 - in a three-class configuration on these routes.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group said in a statement on their new initiative: “I thank the Indian Government and Ministry of Civil Aviation for opening up the Indian skies and giving international airlines such as Emirates an opportunity to commence services to a host of new destinations.”
He further added: “By the end of this year, Emirates would have launched services to three new Indian cities including Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, and Bangalore and strengthened its presence in the country to eight cities served by 71 flights.”
