Fitness First entering Indian market
Fitness First is a global health club chain operator. The company has now announced their plans to enter the Indian market.
They are going to invest about 20 million pounds (about Rs. 172 crores) in the next three years in India. The plan is to open around 15-20 such clubs in India.
Fitness First already operates around 500 health clubs in 17 nations and their first Indian center would be located in Gurgaon.
Fitness First India Pvt Ltd Managing Director Vikram Aditya Bhatia spoke about their Indian plans: “Over a period of three years, we are planning to open 15-20 fitness clubs in India. Our investment will be about 20 million pounds.”
They plan to hire around 50 workers for each of their upcoming establishments in India. Bhatia added: “We plan to open 2-3 fitness clubs in India in 2007. We have already taken space on lease from Unitech for our first club in Gurgaon.”
He further said: “We are talking to developers for the space in malls, office complex and IT parks and consultant CB Richard Ellis are helping us in finding the property on lease.”
