Intel could now build a $2.5 billion chip plant in China
US based microprocessor maker Intel has finally received permissions from the Chinese government to build their $2.5 billion chip plant in China.
The company would benefit from this new development as demand for their processors is massively increasing in the nation which is currently the second largest internet market in the world.
Intel has planned to locate this new unit in the northeastern city of Dalian as per information revealed by the cabinet’s National Development and Reform Commission.
The Chinese government has been considering promoting foreign companies to move high-tech facilities to China.
The NDRC claimed that Intel would be making chips here using the 90-nanometer technology. Intel already has units in Shanghai and the western city of Chengdu making memory chips, microprocessors and other products.
