Nissan to cut production as demand for cars falling
Japanese automaker Nissan has said that they are planning to cut auto production at two factories in Japan because of slow domestic sales.
They are the Japan’s third largest automaker after Toyota and Honda and are working with Renault to enter the Indian market.
The company however did not disclose details on by how much are they planning to cut the production of cars in the country.
A Nissan representative said that one production line at each plant will go from two shifts to one from April to June. The company recently slashed its annual profit forecast after reporting a 22 percent slump in earnings in the last three months of 2006.
