Indian Airline would require additional 5,000 pilots in 5 years
The Indian aviation sector has seen such a massive boom in the last couple of years that there is a massive shortage of pilots in the market now.
The Indian Aviation Ministry sources have said on this context: “The total number of additional aircraft in the next five years is estimated at 500, for which an additional 5,000 pilots would be required.”
The airline company currently has a requirement of around 3,160 pilots but they only have around 2,940 pilots on payroll.
The sources added that the other airline company operated by the government Air India has a shortfall of 118 pilots.
The Indian government is now considering hiking seats in the India Gandhi Ashtray Urban Academy to 100 from the present 40.
