Carlos Ghosn shuffles management at Nissan
CEO of Nissan, Carlos Ghosn has announced that he would be stepping down from the company’s North American operations as he plans to focus on leading Nissan and Renault in their major markets.
This is a result of a major management reshuffle at the company which has been struggling in the recent quarters. Nissan is expected to post lower profit for the 2006 fiscal year.
The company has also announced their plans to cut production at two plants in Japan. Ghosn has been till now handling Renault’s and Nissan’s work at Japan, Paris and Nashville, Tennessee.
Nissan said in a statement that the Hiroto Saikawa would now handle the Nissan’s top management work in the North American market. He is currently the vice president in charge of Nissan’s European operations.
Ghosn added in his statement: “The priority for our new management team is to act decisively on the multiple challenges facing Nissan and to boost our overall performance in 2007.”
