Google acquires Trendalyzer from Gapminder
Search engine giant Google seems to be on an acquisition spree. The company recently announced their decision to acquire inline game advertising company Adscape.
Now, they have revealed that they are acquiring a division of Gapminder. Gapminder is a nonprofit group that develops free software and they are selling their Trendalyzer division to Google.
Trendalyzer division specializes in developing moving graphics and effects to display figures and graphs. This technology could potentially be integrated and used in Google Apps.
Google’s Marissa Mayer, vice president of search products and user experience spoke on this acquisition: “Like Google, Gapminder strives to make information more useful, and Trendalyzer will improve any function or application in which data might be better visualized.”
