Satya Nadella is the new head of Microsoft Search and Ad Platform group
US based software giant Microsoft has announced that they are appointing Satya Nadella to lead the newly formed Search and Ad Platform group.
This is the new division created by the company to optimize the advertising revenue-raising potential of its search business.
Nadella was previously heading the Microsoft’s Business Solutions group. He would now report to Kevin Johnson, president of the Platform and Services Division.
In addition, Microsoft also announced the appointment of Harry Shum as chief scientist of the Search and Ad Platform group. He would continue to remain the leader of Microsoft Research Asia.
This is the latest action taken by the company as they struggle to compete against Google and Yahoo! in the search engine and online advertising market.
