Aeroflot to order 22 Airbus A350XWBs for their fleet
Airbus-parent EADS has announced that they have signed on a couple of new deals with Russia. The deal includes a major jet order as Aeroflot would be getting the new planes for their fleet from Airbus and not Boeing.
Airbus announced that they are going to work with Unified Aircraft Corp. on launching a risk-sharing partnership on the A350 XWB. Airbus is now offering them a 5% stake in building the aircraft.
EADS added that they are still discussing on which components will be designed and built in Russia.
Aeroflot added in their statement that they have signed another memorandum of understanding for 22 A350 XWBs. These would be delivered between 2014 and 2017.
The two companies have not disclosed the financial aspects of this deal. However, it comes at a time when Airbus is struggling in the market due to delayed deliveries of their newer generation planes.

What may appear to be a great order for Airbus, is in fact the opposite! Airbus is plagued with Government interference from four sides already, they certainly don’t need another to add to the mess they’re in.
Airbus needs to stand on its own without Government sticking its nose into its affairs and dictating where and how the company is going to re-organize, of course the likelihood of that happening is zero. By adding Russia into the equation, they just magnify the problem.
The other negative in this is the U.S. and its Military! does anyone really think they would award any kind of contract to Airbus with Russia holding an monetary interest as well as shared technical insights into the requirements of the U.S. Military?
Be careful what you wish for, you may just get it.
