Thomson Corporation to setup research services in India
US based information services company Thomson Corporation has announced that they are planning to setup their scientific research services vertical to the Indian market.
The company is going to establish their unit in the south Indian city of Chennai. They expect this unit to be operational by the end of the current year.
They are planning to hire around 500 high-end professionals for their centers located in Hyderabad and Chennai this year. These hiring would include people with PhD degrees to create content and database for scientific research.
Robert D Daleo, executive vice-president & chief financial officer of Thomson Corporation spoke about their plans for the Indian market: “Initially, our global delivery centre in Hyderabad will cater to the new vertical and later it will be extended to the new centre coming up in Chennai.”
He added: “We provide application services to most of the global pharma majors. Besides, some of the Indian pharma companies also subscribe to our application tools.”
