Union Bank of India to open a branch at Shanghai in China
Union Bank of India has announced that they are all set to open a new branch in Shanghai in China. This would be their first overseas branch as the company aims to target global markets with their services.
This new branch would open and start operating next month. They are also already discussing plans to open another branch in Doha.
In addition, UBI is also considering opening two representative offices in Hong Kong and Dubai.
Union Bank of India, General Manager, V K Dhingra spoke on their plans: “We will open our first overseas branch in Shanghai next month.” About the representative offices he said: “These will also be opened soon but the bank is just awaiting the approval from their respective governments.”
He added about their plans for the domestic market: “We will open 125 branches in next financial year across the country with a view to strengthen our position here.”
The bank already has around 2,183 branches in the country.
