MySpace want courts to ban Sanford Wallace from their service
Online social networking giant MySpace.com has said that they have filed a lawsuit against Sanford Wallace. They are asking the courts to bar Wallace and his affiliated companies from joining the social networking service.
The company is accusing Wallace of violating state and federal laws including the federal Can-Spam Act and California’s antispam and antiphishing statutes.
MySpace claims that the accused launched a phishing scam in October targeting the users of the MySpace.com service. Hemanshu Nigam, chief security officer for MySpace spoke on this lawsuit: “Individuals who try to spam or phish our members are not welcome on MySpace.”
Interestingly, this is not the first time Wallace has been sued. Federal Trade Commission and companies including America Online and Concentric Network Corp have filed similar lawsuits against him in the past.
