Virgin Mobile USA to offer Yahoo! mobile services
Virgin Mobile USA has announced that they are collaborating with US based internet company Yahoo. They would now be offering Yahoo’s mobile tools to their subscribers.
This is good news for Yahoo! as this would give them access to an existing subscriber base of more than 4.6 million wireless customers of Virgin.
The two companies said that they would be offering Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Messenger for download on several Virgin Mobile handsets.
Virgin would also be preloading these applications on their upcoming phone models to be launched in the market.
Yahoo! and Virgin are also planning to offer more customized services to the mobile users in the coming months. These would include a range of SMS services such as search and messaging.
This comes just as Yahoo! announced a similar deal with LG. LG would be preloading several Yahoo mobile tools on their mobile phone products.
