Forbes’ list of 2000 corporate giants has 34 Indian companies
Forbes’ has come out with their list of 2000 global corporate giants and the list contains 34 Indian companies. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation is the Indian leader in the group.
The list contains five Indian oil and gas companies, four Indian software companies. ONGC is ranked 239th on the list while Reliance Industries is placed 258th.
State Bank of India got the 326th spot while Indian Oil was placed 399th. Tata Consultancy Services was the highest placed IT Company on the list with position number 1047. Infosys Technologies (1130), Wipro (1233) and Satyam Computer Services (1874) followed them.
India is one of the fastest growing telecom markets. However, Bharti Airtel managed to be the only telecom company from India to get a place on this list. Other major Indian entities were ICICI bank (536), HDFC-Housing Development (1197), Punjab National Bank (1308), Canara Bank (1360), HDFC bank (1376), Bank of Baroda (1585), Bank of India (1691), Indl Dev Bank of India (1767), Union Bank of India (1772). UCO Bank (1931), Syndicate Bank (1943), Indian Overseas Bank (1946) and Oriental Bank of Commerce (1974).
