Tata Motors has plans to setup another unit in next 2 years

Indian automaker Tata Motors has announced that they are planning to setup another automobile plant in the country within two years.

The company is already working hard on their plant in West Bengal where they plan to manufacture their much talked about Rs. 1 lakh car.

Tata Motors added that this new plant would be a commercial vehicle manufacturing unit and they are already hunting for a suitable location for it.

Tata Motors managing director Ravi Kant spoke on their plans for the Indian market: “In the past 50 years, Tata Motors had set up three plants at Jamshedpur, Pune and Lucknow. We have taken the decision to set up three plants in a span of just three years. One has already come up at Uttaranchal. The second plant is coming up at Singur. And we are planning a third plant.”

Kant added: “A number of questions have been raised about our choice of Singur as the site for the Rs 1 lakh car project. Let me make it clear that it is our decision where to go and nobody has the right to question that.”
