Finnair announce plans to launch Mumbai-Helsinki flight

Finland’s Finnair has announced that they would soon launch a new flight between Mumbai and Helsinki to complete their existing flight between Delhi-Helsinki.

The company has seen massive response to their Delhi-Helsinki flight and this new flight is expected to be launched in June this year.

Finnair further said that they would make their Delhi-Helsinki flight a daily service from May 19. The Mumbai-Helsinki flight would be five times a week.

Finnair Indian Sub-continent Director Taina Tornstrom spoke on their plans: “We want to make Mumbai-Helsinki flight also a daily service by this year-end and then we propose to look at Chennai.”

Targeting Chennai is crucial for them considering mobile phone giant Nokia setting up its manufacturing facility in Chennai. Nokia is headquartered in Finland.

They might also consider starting flights from Bangalore which is the IT hub in India and already very popular with airline companies.
