Symantec Corporation expands presence in India with a Centre of Innovation
US based security application maker Symantec has announced their latest ‘ Centre of Innovation’ located in Chennai in India.
This new setup was inaugurated by the Union IT and Communications Minister Dayanidhi Maran. Maran said at the occasion that the global security market was worth 15 billion US dollars of which India’s share was $ 150 million.
John Walter Thompson, Chairman and CEO, Symantec added that this new establishment would complement their existing facility in Pune.
This happens to be Symantec’s second R&D facility in India after Pune. They would be hiring around 1,000 people for this new office and these would be working on the company’s entire range of ‘Security 2.0′ product.
