GM India sales up for the month of March
GM India recently launched their new car UV-A in the Indian premium compact car segment. And the company has now posted improved sales figures for the month of March.
The company said that the sales were up 12% compared to the same period in the previous year. GM India sold 4,542 units last month compared to 4,070 units in the same month a year ago.
Incidentally, this has been the best month in terms of sales for the company as they aim to take a 10% share of the Indian automobile segment by the end of the current decade.
The company sold 2,175 units of multi utility vehicle Chevrolet Tavera, 426 units of premium sedan Optra and 1,941 units of mid-size sedan Aveo during the month.
GM India Vice President P Balendran spoke on this improved performance: “We are very pleased to see such a robust growth for all our carlines under the Chevrolet brand. The company is all set to launch the Chevrolet Spark to mark its entry into the mini car segment.”
The launch of Spark would further boost their sales figures as it would take on the Zen Estilo, Wagon R, Indica and Santro in the Indian market.
