TVS Motor Company reports 15% gain in sales for 2007 financial year
Indian bike maker TVS Motor has reported that their sales were up 15% in the financial year 2006-07. The company however posted disappointing figures for the month of March.
The company sold 9,24,813 units last year compared to 8,06,708 units in the previous financial year.
Their total sales (including scooters) were at 15,28,214 units as against 13,42,204 units in the previous financial year. This is an improvement of 14%.
For the month of March 2007, TVS sold 73,239 units of their motorcycle units. This is up from 83,896 in March 2006. The total sales for the month of March were at 1,28,207 compared to 1,28,857 recorded last year.
TVS president K N Radhakrishnan added that they have now garnered a 27% share of the entry-level market through its Star range of 4-stroke motorcycles.
