NBC Universal has massive expansion plans
NBC Universal has announced that they are planning to launch as many as 20 TV channels across Europe, Asia and Latin America.
The aim is to double revenues from broadcasting outside the United States over the next two to three years.
The initial plans are to launch their existing channels including Sci-Fi and 13th Street in new markets including Portugal, Hungary, Russia and India.
NBC Universal Chief Executive Jeff Zucker had recently said that they aim to expand their presence worldwide to enhance revenue potential from their existing resources.
He had said: “We promised that international growth would be one of our key areas of focus and this first step underlines our determination to grow our business throughout the world.”
