Adidas aims to consolidate business operations in the USA

Adidas AG has said in a statement that they are now planning to consolidate their business operations in the United States.

The company is planning to consolidate their apparel and footwear distribution centers into new facilities in Spartanburg, South Carolina by fall 2009.

This decision is going to affect as many as 375 employees.

Adidas added that their facilities in Memphis, Tennessee and Hebron, Kentucky are expected to remain in operation until fall 2008.

Their other facilities at Stoughton and Norwood, Massachusetts and an existing Spartanburg facility are expected to remain in operation until fall 2009.

Adidas added that their existing employees currently in Spartanburg will move to the new site a few miles away.
