Sprint Nextel hoping for a profitable future

Sprint Nextel has affirmed its 2006 revenue and earnings outlook and said in a statement that they are expecting their revenue growth to outpace the industry over the next three years. The company is betting on its mobile business to gain in the near future.

However, market analysts are somewhat surprised that the company can predict their performance for the next three years in this business considering the number of new mobile customers is dwindling in the past couple of months.

Nevertheless, Sprint is expected to gain from their recent acquisition of Nextel Partners Inc. and their customers. They are aiming for a 2006 revenue of $41 billion. The company was formed last year when Sprint acquired Nextel Communications. They faced problems from some of the resellers of both the companies but have managed to settle most of them through acquisition route.
