Acer now sell more notebooks than Toshiba
Acer computers has now overtaken Toshiba in terms of notebook sales. The company gained in the sales chart after their sales increased by 45.6 percent in the fourth quarter of last year.
With this, Acer has now become the third-place seller of notebook PCs worldwide. These stats were revealed by the market research company iSuppli.
iSuppli claimed that Acer’s growth even managed to outpace Hewlett Packard which is the leader in notebook sales. HP managed to retail the top spot with a growth of 32.8 percent.
They have 21.4 percent of the global market for notebook PCs. They yearly growth has been around 52% which is pretty impressive. Second spot is still held by Dell.
iSuppli principal analyst Matthew Wilkins said in a statement on these latest statistics: “Acer came, Acer saw, and Acer conquered in the fourth quarter. The company has been very public about its intention to capture the No. 3 spot in the mobile-PC market — and the fourth quarter ranking shows the company is putting its money where its mouth is.”
