KDDI to provide mobile services in USA
Japanese mobile service provider KDDI has said that they are planning to launch their mobile services in the US market.
They would be using the network operated by Sprint Nextel Corp. the company is already the second largest mobile service provider in the competitive Japanese market.
The company said that they plan to cater to Japanese people living in the United States. Their US based services would be based on the CDMA network. This is different from the W-CDMA standard of technology popular in Europe and Asia.
A media report claimed that KDDI aims to roll out in the US fully by the middle of this month. They would be offering mobile phone products from Sanyo Electric.
