US Airways could post a profit for the first quarter

US Airways Group has said in a statement that they are expecting to post a “slight profit” for the first quarter.

The company is still struggling as they suffered from weather and reservation systems problems during the period.

Revenues are said to be badly affected by the storms around Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day.

US Airways said in a statement on their expectations: “As a result, for the second straight month we experienced a negative impact on revenue, passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) and cost per available seat mile (CASM).”

The company added: “Despite the disruption we still project a slight profit (excluding special items) for the first quarter.”
