Raymond to start focusing on smaller cities in India
Indian Textile and apparel company Raymond has announced their plans to expand their retail presence throughout the country.
The company said that they are now planning to more than double its network of retail stores. The aim is to have around 950 stores by the end of the current decade.
And the interesting aspect of this news is that they are going to expand by establishing stores in small towns, where business is growing sharply.
However, 70% of Raymond’s business still comes from the metros. Raymond’s retail division president Anirudha Deshmukh had this to say on their plans: ” There is not much strong penetration of retail in class four and five towns, particularly in states like West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.”

the strategy for expending raymonds across class 4 and 5 cities is really exciting and it’s necessary to penetrate the market in every segment, which is remunerable in long term process. As retail business is mounting to Everest, it’s a better time to spread it’s wings in open sky.
And I am delighted to hear this news.
