Palm hoping for growth from Asian and European markets

Palm has said in a statement that they are hoping for stronger sales from their Asian and European markets. Their Treo Smartphone is pretty popular in these regions.

The company however refrained from talking about the recent takeover talks in the media. Market rumors stated that Motorola and Nokia were trying to acquire Palm.

Palm Chief Executive Ed Colligan added in his statement: “We think there is a big wave coming in this whole mobile computing revolution, which is becoming a bigger part of the overall mobile phone business. We have an enormous opportunity going forward. You can expect us to do business development around the world.”

He however did not reveal much about their planned spending on its key growth initiatives such as global expansion, increasing carrier partnerships, and improving the strength of its brand with consumers.
