Amp’d Mobile subscriber base has crossed 175,000 members
Amp’d Mobile has reported that their total subscriber base grew nearly 70 percent in the first quarter. The company is now serving around 175,000 customers.
The company is supported by tech giants including Qualcomm Inc. and Viacom Inc. They added around 84,000 new subscribers during the first three months of 2007.
Amp’d also just recently launched their services in Japan and Canada. They had ended the year 2006 with more than 100,000 subscribers.
The youth-oriented has till now refused to reveal the exact numbers of their subscribers.
Interestingly, Amp’d claims that they manage to generate average revenue per subscriber above $100 per month. This is pretty impressive compared to their competitors in the market.
The company said in a statement: “Demonstrating its focus on mobile entertainment, over 50 percent of Amp’d data (revenue) comes from content as opposed to the industry average of approximately 25 percent.”
