Salesforce.com acquires content collaboration startup Koral
Salesforce.com has announced their entry into the content management market as they have just acquired the Web 2.0 content collaboration startup Koral.
The company has launched a new initiative they call Salesforce Content. They aim to provide management for all of its customers’ information. This would include data maintained in databases and other formats including documents, e-mail messages, audio, and video.
Bruce Francis, vice president of corporate strategy at Salesforce.com added in a statement announcing this new initiative: “Starting today, we are a content management player.”
Salesforce.com would now add on the Apex Content to their existing platforms and this would act as the base for their content-based applications.
Developers would get the power to include those capabilities in software they build on top of Salesforce.com’s software.
