Bajaj Auto to expand spending on advertising
Indian Two-wheeler major Bajaj Auto has said that they plan to expand their advertising spending in the coming months.
The company is now betting to enhance their sales by spending more on ad campaigns. They have already started promoting their new 200 cc Pulsar motorcycle.
Bajaj Auto Marketing General Manager Amit S Nandi said in a statement on their plans: “The company’s overall promotional budget for 2007 will go up by 20-25 per cent as compared to that of last year’s. We have spent between Rs 1-2 crore on Pulsar’s new advertisement.”
Bajaj is also working hard on expanding their manufacturing capacities and would have a production capacity of 3.5 million bikes by 2007-08.
Bajaj said that their 200 cc bike would soon be exported by the year end. The company also admitted that their sales in the 100cc segment have fallen down considerably and they are soon going to exit from this segment.
