Malaysia bans mobile phones at strategic locations for better security
The Malaysian government has apparently banned the use of mobile phones in key locations of their administrative capital.
They are also installing the relevant jammers at appropriate locations to block spying on official discussions. This was reported by a domestic newspaper.
The Star newspaper further quoted Malaysia’s top bureaucrat, Mohamed Sidek Hassan as saying: “The widespread use of these devices, especially handphones with camera facilities, has serious implications on security.”
Malaysian security official Johari Jamaluddin added that till now there has been no security breaches or leaks of sensitive information to Internet sites.
