Bajaj Auto to establish a new plant in Pantnagar

With the aim of expanding their manufacturing capacities, India’s two wheeler major Bajaj Auto has announced their plans to setup a new plant in Pantnagar. The company said that its board would decide on setting up a Greenfield plant at Pantnagar in Uttaranchal.

If everything goes as per plans, the plant would start the production by next year. Bajaj Auto Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj said in a statement: “Bajaj is considering Pantnagar in Uttaranchal as a potential manufacturing site. The proposal will be placed before the Board on Friday (March 10.”

The board of Bajaj Auto would also be discussing the planned investments and the capacity of the new plant. The company is also considering a plant at Chakan in Maharashtra and has proposed this plan to the government. Their proposal talked about setting up of a plant at a 200-acre land with an estimated investment of Rs 500 crore.
