Dennis Crowley and Alex Rainert of Dodgeball leaving Google
Google keeps on acquiring companies and the developers behind these companies sort of feel disappointed and leave the company.
The latest case is the people behind the mobile social networking service Dodgeball which Google acquired in 2005.
Looks like the search engine giant is concentrating a lot on their YouTube service which they acquired sometime back and which is perhaps their most popular acquisition till date.
Dennis Crowley wrote in a message posted on Flickr photo sharing service that he along with Alex Rainert are leaving Google as they were not happy with the way Google was supporting their project. He wrote in the message: “The whole experience was incredibly frustrating for us — especially as we couldn’t convince them that Dodgeball was worth engineering resources, leaving us to watch as other startups got to innovate in the mobile + social space.”
Google had this to say about this new development related to Dodgeball: “Dodgeball was an early attempt at understanding user needs in this space, and we are continuing to evolve our thinking and our offerings. However, we have nothing to announce at this time.”
Crowley has now joined area/code company which specializes in designing and executing large-scale, real-world games. Rainert has joined IconNicholson.
