AOL challenges TV with new interactive programs announcement

AOL has announced that they would be broadcasting five new interactive programs. The aim is to enhance their revenues from advertising on these shows.

The company had invited more than 500 advertising executives and media planners at their “First Look” showcase. AOL Chief Executive Randy Falco said at the event: “What we’re interested in is making sure when advertisers and agencies are deciding what their budgets are for the coming year, they understand there’s an enormous shift going on.”

These new initiatives are just aimed at enhancing their existing offerings as the company is working hard on improving their revenues from their services.

Falco added on their plans: “There’s no hiding that. We’re trying to get out there in front of the traditional broadcast upfronts so we can remind people who control budgets just how important online is becoming to their marketplace. The online ad market is quickly consolidating around four major players, and we’re one of them.”
