Bill Ford: Ford is keeping all options for now
Ford’s executive chairman Bill Ford Jr. has been quoted as saying in the media that the company has not ruled out an eventual sale or partnership.
Ford is in trouble in their home market as they are posting huge losses and as a result they are cutting costs by closing down plants and firing employees.
Ford said in his statement: “Merge with another company, go it alone, sell off the brands, have the family pull out and get rid of their B stock — there are a billion things that could’ve happened. And there is still a big wide world of things that can happen in the future.”
The company just recently hired Alan Mulally to head the company. He moved to Ford from Boeing. Ford has been criticized heavily for paying big bucks to Mulally despite posting massive losses in the US market.
