Sony/ATV acquires Leiber Stoller catalog

Sony/ATV Music Publishing’s new head, Martin Bandier has announced that they have now acquired the Leiber Stoller catalog.

This catalog includes the hits like “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Stand By Me” and “Love Potion #9.” The company did not reveal the financial aspects of this deal though experts believe that it would be worth around USD 50 million.

Bandier spoke on this acquisition: “I have always been a great fan of this amazing catalog.”

He recently joined the company after stepping down from EMI Group Plc’s EMI Music Publishing. He is credited by the market to help that company to become the number 1 music publisher in the market.

He added about his new position: “I’m happy doing what I’m doing. I have a great support system here that wants to grow this business and I have a real big share of the upside, which is quite different than just being an employee and is a major incentive.”
