Google: DoubleClick would benefit from their content relevancy technology
Google recently announced their largest acquisition till date. They acquired the online advertising company DoubleClick.
This has resulted in complaints from rival companies like Microsoft and other tech giants including AT&T which claims that this acquisition would give Google a monopolistic position in the online advertising market.
Yahoo has stayed away from making any such statement. But they did say that the DoubleClick customers might move on to other services after this acquisition.
Google on the other hand believes that the customers would benefit from the acquisition as they would get access to their content relevancy technology.
Getting related ads to the content is also likely to benefit the web users visiting the sites with DoubleClick powered advertisings.
Google CEO Eric Schmidt said on this acquisition: “Advertising is really about relevance.”
