Marcus Brauchli would be the new managing editor of Wall Street Journal
Media group Wall Street Journal has announced that Marcus Brauchli would be their new managing editor. He would be taking over from Paul Steiger next month.
Brauchli has been the force behind the paper’s new redesign which was adopted earlier this year and he was also one of the WSJ’s former foreign correspondent.
He would be reporting directly to Journal publisher Gordon Crovitz. His main competitor for this high profile job at WSJ was Dow Jones Newswires President Paul Ingrassia who responded in a statement saying: “Obviously I’m disappointed, but I respect Rich’s and Gordon’s right to make the decision.”
Steiger would become the paper’s editor-at-large. WSJ had much success under his leadership winning more than a dozen Pulitzer prizes.
