Volkswagen to extract growth from Russia and India
German automaker Volkswagen has said that they are looking at the Russian and Indian auto markets for growth in the coming years.
The company is facing stagnating growth in their primary markets Europe and North America. VW Chief Executive Martin Winterkorn added in his statement: “We are intent on playing a key role in shaping this growth.”
VW is already building their manufacturing plants in both these emerging markets. And to gain a strong foothold in India, they are also working on a brand new small car.
In addition, VW is also working on a new car designed specifically to meet the demand of the Russian market. These specialized vehicles are expected to generate good sales for them in the coming years.
These two markets are turning out to be the fastest growing markets in the world along with China.
