Nokia’s market share at 36% in the mobile phone segment
World’s largest mobile phone maker Nokia has come out with their latest revenue reports and the company has reported that their net profit slid seven percent.
However, Nokia continues to dominate the mobile phone segment as they have enhanced their market share to an impressive 36%.
Nokia’s profit figures fell down to 979 million Euros compared to 1.0 billion Euros a year earlier. Nokia seems to have suffered from the low profitability on their low cost models.
The company added that their mobile phone prices continued to plunge amid fierce competition in emerging markets. This has been a major factor in emerging Asian markets like India and china.
It is pretty clear from the average selling price for a Nokia mobile phone which has now fallen down 13 percent from a year ago. The company managed to sell more mobile phones than rival players in the market including Motorola, Samsung and LG.
