Chicago Tribune launches Triblocal community website
The Chicago Tribune has announced the launch of their new community news website named Triblocal as they aim to get their readers to contribute with latest stories.
This new service is inviting web users from nine suburbs to post their own articles, photos and blogs.
Ted Biedron, president of the Tribune division that designed the site spoke on this new initiative: “This started with the question of how can we make the paper more relevant to readers who continue to live further and further away from the center city.”
The service would have a staff of four journalists and bulk of the content is expected to be generated by the web users visiting and contributing to the site.
Triblocal currently is dedicated to readers in Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, Elburn, Maple Park, Tinley Park, Orland Park, Orland Hills and Homer Glen.
