Toyota to import more vehicles into USA to meet the growing demand
Japanese automaker Toyota continues to perform well in the US market. The demand for their cars has increased so much that the company now plans to enhance their imports from Japan to meet the requirement in the US market.
Toyota has already started manufacturing Camry sedans at a Subaru plant here to meet the domestic demand. However, they would still need to increase the imports to meet the demand for their Prius hybrid car which is currently manufactured in Japan.
The company estimates that their total imports would probably rise by about 25,000 this year. Toyota is also working hard on enhancing their manufacturing capacities in the US market.
Toyota just broke ground for a plant in Mississippi which would be their eight such unit in the US market. In addition, they are also building a new factory in Canada. Interestingly, Toyota would still require importing 60,000 Camrys from Japan this year.
