General Motors reportedly recalling 900,000 pickups
Problems never seem to end for the world’s largest maker of automobiles. General Motors is already struggling to compete against the Japanese automakers in their home market of Japan and the company is now reportedly contemplating recalling as many as 900,000 pickups.
This recall is rumored to be called worldwide where the company sells their pickup vehicles and it is related to fixing problems with tailgate cables that can corrode and break when loads are placed on them.
This report was issued by the media group Wall Street Journal. WSJ said in its report that the affected vehicles are 1999-2000 models of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks. As many as 84 injuries have been reported worldwide due to these defects in the GM vehicles. However, these injuries are minor and no deaths or crashes have been reported.
