Tata Motors reports improved sales for April
Indian automaker Tata Motors has reported improved sales figures for the month of April. The company reported total sales of 40,486 vehicles for April.
This is an improvement of 10.7% over 36,574 vehicles sold in April 2006. Tata Motors sold 19,607 commercial vehicles during the period. This is somewhat down from sales of 19,674 vehicles in the same month last year.
Their sales in the medium and heavy CV products stood at 10,392 units. This is also a decline from the sales in the same period last year.
The sales of their light CV was however up by around 22%. The company sold 16,842 vehicles in the passenger vehicle segment. This is an improvement of around 26% compared to last year.
Tata sold 10,870 Indicas, 2,632 Indigos and 3,340 units of Sumo and Safari. The exports were also up for the company at 4,037 units.
