Fiat Linea and Grande Punto coming to Indian next year
Italian auto major Fiat has said that they are aiming to sell one lakh units of cars planned to be launched next year in the Indian market.
Fiat Automobiles Spa Chief Executive Officer Luca De Meo was quoted as saying: “We want to accelerate our entry into key emerging markets. I think India is a market where we could actually get above the 1,00,000 threshold if the market develops in the right direction.”
The company is already working with Indian automaker Tata Motors to manufacture passenger cars, engines and transmissions for the Indian and overseas markets. Tata is also marketing and selling Fiat cars in the Indian market through their dealers.
Fiat is also planning to launch Linea and Grande Punto in the Indian market sometime next year. They have their Palio Stile model in India at the moment.
They are also considering plans to make India their export hub for all the right-hand drive car markets.
