Bajaj to sell 125cc bikes at 100cc bike prices
Indian two wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto has said that they are going to take on Hero Honda in the 100cc bike segment by offering their 125cc bike products at the same prices.
Bajaj Auto Vice-Chairman Madhur Bajaj spoke on their plans for this year: “We will offer 125 cc motorbikes at the price of our 100 cc before the end of this year.”
They are currently working on some new products based on 125cc engines with some modifications which would allow them to sell them at low prices.
Bajaj added: “We will upgrade the 100 cc bikes and will come up with new 125 cc bikes, which will be cheaper. Our research and development department is working on the upgrade. It could be a couple of months from now for the launch.”
Bajaj currently sell their 125cc bikes in the market in the range of Rs 45,000-46,000. The 100cc bikes are priced much lower at Rs 33,000. The company is struggling in this segment of the market which is largely dominated by Hero Honda with their bikes.
