Apple could sell 17 million iPhones next year
Market analyst firms have said that they expect the iPod maker Apple Inc. to sell as many as 17 million Apple iPhones in the market next year.
This number could further jump to an impressive 25 million units in the year 2009. These numbers have been revealed by Caris & Co. and Barron’s.
Apple itself has said that they aim to achieve one percent of the smart phone market in the iPhone’s first year of launch. This comes to around sales of 10 million units in the first year of launch.
Apple is scheduled to launch their iPhone product in June this year.
Caris & Co. analyst Shebly Seyrafi added that they are expecting the company to sell 11.9 million iPods in the June 2007 quarter. And around a third of these iPods would be video capable.
He has also predicted that the company’s stock would touch USD 115 in the coming months. It is hovering around USD 100 at the moment.
