Airbus has big plans for India
Europe based aircraft manufacturer Airbus has announced that they are planning to invest more than $1 billion in the Indian aviation industry in the next 10 years.
The company has high hopes from the Indian market which has become one of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world.
Airbus would invest in setting up training, a maintenance facility, and a design and engineering centre. John Leahy, chief operating officer (customers) of Airbus added in a statement: “We have decided to invest over $1 billion in the next 10 years in Indian aviation.”
The company also just recently brought their Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft in India on a promotional flight.
Airbus also added that they are expecting the Indian firms to place orders for 1,100 passenger and freighter aircraft valued at about $105 billion over 20 years.
